Karl

Karl is the “Womer” behind Womer Landscape & Design, LLC, the owner, lead designer, and driving force behind the company. With a lifelong passion for working outdoors, he studied Horticulture and Landscape Design at Pennsylvania College of Technology, graduating in 2006 before entering the green industry full-time.

In 2014, Karl and his wife, Mary, founded Womer Landscape & Design, growing it into a trusted, family-driven business. Over the years, Karl has continued to evolve his craft, with a strong focus on native plants and conservation-based landscaping.

He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Landscape/Nursery Technology, along with certifications including PCH, ISA, and CBLP, reflecting his commitment to quality and ongoing education.

Mary

Mary married into the landscape industry and has learned by immersion the many joys and challenges of running a business. Go ahead, ask her the Latin name for the Maple genus, she knows that now. She wears many hats at Womer Landscape & Design LLC, handling most of the desk and office work behind the scenes. In the moments when she is not managing a growing family and a growing business, you’ll find Mary in a Womer Landscape t-shirt or sweats, coloring or working on a puzzle, coffee in hand.

Rick

Rick is a seasoned landscape professional whose work has taken him to states all over the Mid-Atlantic, including working for BrightView. He brings an experienced eye to Womer Landscape & Design LLC since 2023 and is an excellent fit as Mowing Foreman. Rick prides himself on his meticulously striped lawns and happy clients, but also willingly jumps into whatever other projects are on the agenda. He looks forward to a long and happy tenure at Womer Landscape & Design.

Mike

Mike just loves to mow and is an excellent addition to the Womer Landscape & Design mowing team in 2026! He looks forward to bringing his experience caring for lawns at multi-million dollar lakefront properties in New York to Central Pennsylvania, so your properties get the million dollar treatment. Mike wants every lawn to look like a golf course, and is willing to tend to the details that make the difference. Welcome to the team, Mike!

Blaize

Blaize rejoins the Womer Landscape & Design LLC team after working with Karl during his high school years. The lure of the outdoors brought Blaize back, a certified welder with union experience. He brings a youthful enthusiasm and ideas to balance Karl’s old school ways. Blaize will primarily be on the hardscape and building team.

From a Kid With a Mower to 20+ Years in the Industry

The care and expertise we bring to every build is the result of a journey that started long ago, with a young boy who loved making outdoor spaces look beautiful.

This is the story of our founder, Karl Womer.

A Kid With His Mower

There are photos of Karl Womer as a young boy, pushing a mower across the family yard. By middle school, he was cutting grass for neighbors and dreaming about starting his own company.

A Horticultural Education

Karl’s love of mowing grew into a passion for gardening and hard work, driven by his mother, Cindy Womer, and his uncle, David Wysocki. That passion carried him through Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Landscape Nursery Technology program, where he earned his degree and became a Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist and ISA Certified Arborist.

Launching Womer Landscape & Design
After co-founding Morning Sun Landscaping & Design in 2007, Karl launched Womer Landscape & Design in 2014, the business he’d been building toward since childhood. Today, with over 20 years of experience and a reach extending into Berwick and Danville, he still does what he loves most: hand-drawing designs, building in natural stone, and seeing every project through from bare soil to something beautiful. And now, he’s passing that passion on to the next generation by bringing his kids along for the ride.
